Annie Clark is a creative individual living and working on Myaamia, Kaskaskia, and kiikaapoi land (Indianapolis, IN). They graduated from Herron School of Art and Design with a degree in Furniture Design in 2016. They currently work at Goulding & Wood as a pipe organ builder and spend their time gardening, making ceramics, repairing their house and spending quality time with friends and loved ones. They are curious about emergent strategy, challenging the status quo, and repairing the broken relationships between humans.
We visited Annie at their home to talk about their art practice and what sustains it. As we talked, we got to see Annie’s passion for the human experience as deeply connected — connected to the people we love, connected to physical place through houses and dirt, connected to the earth through our homes and our bodies. Creativity does not exist in isolation, and Annie’s work shines light on the glittering web of connection surrounding us.
