Marilyn Mitchell is an internationally shown, award-winning artist born in Queens, NY. She studied art at SUNY New Paltz, received a BS in Nursing from SUNY Stony Brook and a MAS in Health Law from UCSD/CWSL. She studied painting in Los Angeles with Martin Lubner and printmaking with Don Emery at Santa Monica City College. For decades she worked part-time in Women’s Healthcare as a nurse while raising a family and continuing to make and exhibit art. She eventually worked as a Nurse Ethicist for the VA’s National Center for Ethics in Health Care. She has exhibited in Paris, France, Illinois, Boston, California, and New York. She has received honorable mentions in several exhibits. Her work has been featured in several videos and she has been an invited speaker for a few exhibitions. She has an art studio in Beacon, NY and has been a board member of BeaconArts since 2022. She is also a Certified Black Belt Nia Technique dance instructor.
